Yeah. This is real. For those of you not in the loop, I am promoting my site by hosting a Playstation 4 giveaway!
My goal is to get at least 50,000 views on my site. My hope is that it’s in time for the holidays, and with your help, we can give one lucky sonofagun a great present for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or whatever holiday in December they celebrate. Sign up today and share it with the world and it’s grandmother, and that person might be you.
Playstation 4 Giveaway!
I recently made a presentation at the local Community college with positive feedback, and have been sharing my last post on this like crazy. I would give you a link, but it won’t do you much good anyway, and if you keep reading you’ll find out why.
Anyway, my presentation was only about five minutes long to about 100 people, so I didn’t expect much in the way feedback overnight. I got home late in the night after celebrating my minor victory will a late night caramel iced mocha with some donuts. Dinner of champions. I got home and logged back on to my computer, and as usual one of the first things I check is my G-mail account. I always have this compulsion to check my messages, and since I set the original contact form to email me, it came as no surprise when I saw twenty something emails with the subject line “Another Contest Entry!” At first I was excited; I wasn’t sure how many people would sign on overnight, and the number of 20 + people was promising to say the least. Unfortunately, when I opened the long list of emails, the vast majority of them were not from actual people. Instead it looked more like this:

This is the latest batch of over 100 spam messages, some of which are as random as this one, and others advertising things like sony cameras and fatburning supplements.
I almost deleted a real contest entry trashing all the messages that came in. I encountered this problem before, and the best way to deal with it is to put in my form a CAPTCHA, which basically checks to see if the applicant is human.
I was not able to add one to the previous form, so I’m making a new one here. By the time you read this, I will more then likely have the previous form replaced by a link to this post.
Sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any problems logging in or subscribing please email me at email@example.com. Thank You
